This recipe originated in a piece of luck. It’s a great story about the neat possibilities of the digital world and how it connects people in real life 🙂
In October 2020 I met two great women from Ontario, Canada and New Jersey, USA on Facebook- Ricarda and Sabine. Of course, it was about food, as is often the case with me. Ricarda had the idea to create a cookbook with the members of a women’s Facebook group, which I am also a member of. A word and a blow! Many women from all over the world submitted their recipes and Ricarda and Sabine took over the work. I enjoyed helping by photographing and designing the cover picture.
We often chatted on Facebook, had online meetings, and shared ideas about this and that. It turned out that Ricarda’s husband produces and sells Canada Grade A organic maple syrup. Soon the next idea was born and I made product images of their delicious maple syrups for the upcoming holiday season.
I tried out some recipes with the maple syrups I got from Maple Lifestyle. I have to say this Garlic Maple Chicken recipe may no longer be missing on our menu. It’s super easy to prepare and it’s done in no time. Perfect for the upcoming grill season!
The three of us are still in touch and I’m so happy that I found two new friends! Be curious for more delicious recipes with maple syrup – Ricarda says I have only just begun to discover maple syrups!

Garlic Maple Chicken
It's that simple: stir together, marinade, and fry or grill! Totally easy, and so, so yummy!
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, stir together maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, and thyme leaves.
- Place the chicken breasts in a freezer bag or a marinating container. Make sure that all chicken breasts are well covered with the marinade. Refrigerate the meat for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat a pan on medium heat and sear the chicken breasts on each side until they're cooked through.
- Or you can grill the chicken breasts on each side until they're cooked through.
- In either way, turn the chicken breasts more often to not let the syrup scorch.
- If you have a leftover from the marinade you can brush the chicken breasts while being in the pan or on the grill.
- Once the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (75 degrees Celsius), it's lunch or dinnertime!
